GAMMA INDUSTRY UPDATE

National Academy of Sciences report on “radiation source use and replacement” published February 20, 2008. 

As per US Congress and the Energy Act of 2005 orders, the NRC sponsored the prestigious National Academy of Sciences (NAS) to study and report on “radiation source use and replacement”. During the fact-finding phase both GIPA and iiA (International Irradiation Association) were actively involved in educating the committee on the benefits of cobalt-60 and the vital contributions of gamma processing to healthcare.
